Patrick Moore 2026 Finalist

Construction manager at Amor Construction

Amor Construction

How many people can truly claim to be a master in their craft? Patrick Moore is a practising master of practical stereotomy—laying out, designing, and hand-cutting complex 3D timber (and masonry) geometry. He holds a Master’s in Carpentry from La Grande École des Hommes de Métiers en Compagnonnage, and is the first native English speaker accepted as a Compagnon Passant Charpentier in France’s centuries-old Compagnonnage system—peer-recognition that’s almost unheard of. His biggest ripple effect may be what he’s built beyond any single job. Patrick founded The Professional School of Practical Stereotomy in 2014, running 75+ international workshops and supporting 175+ online students—helping revive a near-lost craft and grow the next generation of practitioners who can actually execute heritage work, not just admire it.

What voters said

"He shows a rare combination of world-class technical mastery, documented industry recognition, measurable impact on training the next generation, and sustained leadership in large, complex heritage projects."
