What do you like most about your current job?
What I value most about my role is that it connects me to every part of the organization, office staff, clients, and most importantly, the workers in the field. I’ve found that to truly help people, trust has to come first, and it’s something that’s earned through action over time.

He is a talented guitar player and before his HSE career he ran his own electrical contracting company, giving him in-depth insight into how builders think and act in the field.

Jason Dean 2026 Finalist

Manager, Health and Safety at Sublatus

Sublatus

Colleagues say Jason Dean has a way of making safety feel less like a requirement and more personal. What people at Sublatus talk about most is the human side he brings: the empathy, the calm communication, and the way he builds trust so crews actually buy in instead of just complying. Since joining, Jason has reshaped the safety program into something practical and widely embraced. He’s introduced systems that reduce admin burden while strengthening compliance and awareness — but he’s also done the harder work. This includes getting the field and office aligned, creating space for real feedback from the jobsite, and adapting programs based on what people are actually experiencing. That two-way dialogue has made Sublatus’ safety approach more responsive, more effective, and a point of pride. Voters consistently describe him as the leader who doesn’t cut corners, even when he’s stretched thin. Others highlight how he shows up for people in small, real ways: checking in on teammates and mentoring new workers.

What voters said

"Jason sets the tone at the top. When leadership consistently models safe behaviour and prioritizes safety in decision-making, it sends a clear message throughout the organization."
