SiteSummit 2026: Back to School at Toronto’s waterfront
Grab your backpack, summer school is in session this June.

Recess is over.
SiteNews is bringing SiteSummit back for a second year, and this time the construction industry conference is going back to school.
SiteSummit 2026, presented in partnership with EllisDon, is back. This year, on June 23–24, we will host the industry at George Brown College’s waterfront campus on Toronto’s East Bayfront. The event is built around a “Summer School” theme that organizers say will replace the traditional sit-and-listen conference format with attendee-chosen sessions, smaller seminars and a slate of social programming designed to encourage genuine connection.
“We are leaning into our academic setting and taking attendees back to the days of selecting a major, signing your friend’s yearbook, and playing beer pong on the quad,” said Russell Hixson, Editor of SiteNews. “Prepare to graduate from this year’s SiteSummit program smarter, better connected, and ready face the industry’s next big challenges.”
Sessions will be concise and tactical, with one-on-one meeting spaces available for more focused conversations. Attendees will also have access to a full guest list through a digital event platform, allowing them to schedule meetings with other participants ahead of time.
The collegiate venue anchors the experience. George Brown College’s Waterfront Campus is home to Limberlost Place, Ontario’s first institutional building constructed from mass timber. The 10-storey, 225,000-square-foot structure — designed by Moriyama & Teshima Architects and Acton Ostry Architects — has been recognized as a global benchmark for sustainable architecture since opening on the city’s revitalized East Bayfront.
A highlight of the programming is a planned takeover of one of the Toronto Islands, featuring lawn games, FIFA on a large screen, a DJ and views of the city skyline. Organizers say the event will build on that energy throughout, with food and beverage from local partners replacing the standard conference catering.
Attendees are encouraged to book accommodation early. A discounted room block has been arranged at the Westin Harbour Castle, with reservations available online or by calling 1-888-627-8559 using group code “STN.” Organizers note that FIFA World Cup fans are expected to be in Toronto during the same period, and hotel availability may be limited.
