Brian Spilak has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Cooper Equipment Rentals, effective March 1, succeeding Doug Dougherty who will transition to Executive Chair. Spilak, who joined Cooper in 2016 and was appointed COO in 2023, brings over 30 years of equipment rental industry experience.

Robert Horvath has been appointed President of Metro-Can Construction. With over 30 years of experience in construction project delivery across Western Canada, Horvath brings expertise in residential, commercial, hospitality, institutional, and healthcare sectors.

Kinetic Construction has announced major leadership changes: Tom Plumb has retired as CEO after 27 years; Mike Walz has been appointed CEO; Nick Rowbotham will become Board Chair; Bruce Vasarhely has been promoted to Director of Operations; Brian Bailey has been promoted to Victoria Branch Manager; and Craig Hewitt has joined as Vancouver Branch Manager.

Ledcor has promoted three senior executives: Alicia Milton is now Vice President, Programs; Wynand Loots is now Vice President, Operations; and Diane Percy is now Vice President, Field Operations. In their new roles, they will drive strategy and operational excellence across Ledcor’s North American projects.

Arnaud Van de Voorde has joined Modern Niagara as Chief Information Officer. With more than 25 years of experience as a digital, product, and technology executive, he brings expertise in digital transformation, ERP modernization, cybersecurity, and advanced analytics platforms.

Karen Cvornyek has been appointed Canada East Business Unit Director within Arcadis’ Architecture and Urbanism practice. She will work alongside Canada West Business Unit Director Lauren Macaulay, forming Arcadis’ first women-led Architecture & Urbanism leadership team in Canada.

Myles Millard has joined CentreCourt to lead its purpose-built rental platform. With over 15 years of experience, Millard will oversee all aspects of the platform as the company expands its rental housing portfolio in the Greater Toronto Area.

RJC Engineers announces new principals and associates: RJC has appointed Patrick Hughson, Scott Laing, and Geoff Kallweit as Principals, along with nine new Associates across its Canadian offices. These appointments in Building Science, Restoration, and Structural Engineering reinforce the firm’s national expertise and continued growth.

Brian White has started a new position as Business Leader – Environmental Services at McElhanney.

Marc Berube has been promoted to Vice President of Western Canada at Rising Edge Group. Previously the Regional Director for Alberta operations, Berube has been with the company since 2006.

Jeffrey Albee has rejoined WSP as the Digital Lead for the Earth & Environment business, following a tenure at Stantec.

John Mackenzie has joined Bird Construction as Vice President, District Manager – British Columbia. He joins the company after nearly 20 years with EllisDon.

Osama Abu-Shihab has been appointed Executive Advisor within the CTO organization at WSP.

Michael Kennedy has joined Kiewit full-time in western Canada, following a year of supporting the company on major pursuits and projects.

Khristian McGrath has been promoted to Special Projects Manager for PCL Atlantic Canada. McGrath has been with PCL for over 20 years, most recently serving as Construction Manager.

Aisha Ali has been appointed as the new President of Premier Construction Software. Ali, who has been with the company for over a decade, previously held leadership roles in implementation, customer success, and operations.

Brad McGrath is now Manager, Operations for Synergy Projects’ Calgary district. He previously spent nearly 20 years with Ledcor, most recently as Project Director.

Jeff Leech is starting a new position as Project Director at Govan Brown & Associates.

McElhanney has hired Darcy Chattell as Vice President of People and Culture. Chattell brings more than 20 years of HR leadership experience from infrastructure industry roles at Rio Tinto, Stuart Olson, Teck Resources, and MEG Energy.

Dallas Miles has been promoted to Project Director at Durwest, where he will continue delivering impactful projects while mentoring teams and exploring new building techniques.

Tianna Sarra has joined SitePartners as a Social Media Coordinator. With a background in digital marketing and previous experience at a construction company where she earned two Tilt-Up Concrete Association video awards, Tianna brings strategic storytelling expertise to the team.

Pamela Schroeder, CHRP has joined PCL’s Atlantic Canada team as HR/PD Manager. She brings nearly nine years of experience with PCL, most recently serving as District HR/PD Advisor in Ottawa.

Farah Benjamin has been appointed Director, Project Controls at Clark Builders.

Stephen Tran has joined HammerTech as Senior Business Analyst.

Carl Funk, Director of Industrial Planning and Development at Beedie, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of NAIOP Vancouver and is co-chairing the Government Relations Committee.

Santosh Mohanan has been promoted to Executive Vice President at Canstar Restorations.

Sy Selick has been promoted to Senior Principal at Stantec after 17 years with the firm.

Max von Kleist is starting a new position as Stakeholder Engagement Lead – Cross Fraser Partnership (Fraser River Tunnel Project) at Bouygues Construction Canada.

Andrea Rawas has joined Bird Construction as Manager, Internal Communications, returning to the construction industry.

Randy Schentag, Pre-Construction Director at Graham Construction, is retiring after 35 years with the company.

Justin Glen is now VP of Marketing at Lark Group.

Sean Usher is starting a new position as Chief Technology Officer at Republic Architecture Inc.

Ioana Babus, P.Eng., has been promoted to Senior Associate at Stantec. The Toronto-based electrical engineer, a 2024 Top 10 Under 40 Award winner, joined Stantec in 2022 and became an associate in 2024.

Manan Kapoor has been promoted to partner at MCW Group’s Edmonton office. With 20 years of experience in electrical engineering, Kapoor has worked on power systems, solar photovoltaic integrations, security systems, and communications infrastructure across commercial, retail, educational, institutional, healthcare, and light industrial sectors.

Blair McArthur has been appointed Vice President at Colliers.

Thomas Fyfe is now Development Manager at QuadReal Property Group.

McElhanney promotes four environmental leaders: Kourtney Bradley, Brian White, P.Eng., Lisa DeSandoli, and Tara Jackle have been promoted to environmental leadership positions at the consulting engineering firm.

David Koopmans has joined HammerTech as Chief Marketing Officer. He brings over 20 years of B2B and construction tech experience, including senior roles at Aconex and Buildxact.

Brett Latham is now Vice President, Commercial (ICI) & Heavy Civil at Clark Construction Management.

Brian Carlson is now Strategic Account Manager at Bluebeam.

Dexter Kirby is now Development Manager at Paragon Living.

Jennifer Sturko Seehra has started a new position as Safety & Organizational Development Manager at Donald Flooring Contract Sales Ltd.
