Nuframe Group announces acquisition of AJ Construction

Nuframe Group, a leading Western Canadian construction company, announced today that it has acquired AJ Construction, marking a significant milestone in the company’s long-term growth strategy and further strengthening its footprint across British Columbia and Western Canada.

The acquisition immediately expands Nuframe’s workforce to more than 250 employees and establishes a stronger presence in key Interior markets, including Kamloops and Kelowna. The addition of AJ Construction enhances Nuframe’s operational capacity while bringing deep regional expertise and experienced talent into the organization.

“This acquisition is about building long-term value – for our clients, our partners, and our people,” said Lorne Derksen, Founder and CEO of Nuframe Group. “At Nuframe, we define value as delivering projects on time, on budget, and with a high level of quality. We are fundamentally a people-driven organization, guided by a simple philosophy: people plus process equals performance.”

Russ Esau, President of Nuframe Group, noted that the acquisition strengthens the company’s ability to deliver a broader scope of work across residential, multi-family, and commercial projects.

“AJ Construction significantly enhances our forming capabilities, bringing them into closer alignment with our longstanding framing expertise,” said Esau. “This balance allows us to deliver more projects from concrete to roof, with greater consistency, predictability, and efficiency for our clients.”

The acquisition reflects Nuframe’s disciplined approach to growth through strategic investment, even amid challenging economic conditions. By establishing a platform that is intentionally designed to support future acquisitions, Nuframe is currently considering additional opportunities as the company continues to build one of Western Canada’s most capable construction organizations.

“While Nuframe’s framing team already services a significant percentage of the market, this acquisition allows us to service a larger group of our clients with the full package solution, from formwork to roof,” said Matt Forward, Director of Nuframe Group. “In an industry that has been overburdened for an extended period of time, our structural start-to-finish process eases the pressure on our clients, allowing them to save time and resources.”

From AJ Construction’s perspective, the partnership represents an opportunity to scale while preserving shared values and culture. “This is a natural fit for our team,” said Albert Wiens, Principal of AJ Construction. “Nuframe shares our commitment to integrity, quality, and delivering on what we promise. Joining the Nuframe platform gives our people new opportunities for growth while allowing us to continue serving our clients at a high level.”
