Mattamy homes signs multi-year deal with robotics company
Promise Robotics says its system allows for “push-button” home manufacturing.

Key Takeaways:
- AI and robotics will be integrated into Mattamy Homes’ Alberta operations, enabling faster, more efficient, and lower-cost home construction.
- The Calgary facility will be staffed by local workers and supported by local supply chains, serving as a model that can be scaled to other communities in Canada and potentially the U.S.
- Mattamy Homes is focusing on modular and industrialized housing, using automation and prefabrication to address labour shortages, housing affordability, and operational efficiency.
The Whole Story:
Promise Robotics has signed a multi-year partnership with Mattamy Homes’ Alberta Division to bring artificial intelligence and robotics technology into large-scale residential construction.
The Toronto-based technology company announced Wednesday that its Factory-as-a-Service platform will be integrated into Mattamy’s operations in Calgary, supporting the delivery of single-family, semi-detached and multi-family homes in two master-planned communities.
Promise Robotics says its system allows builders to adopt “push-button” home manufacturing, cutting costs and timelines while addressing housing supply and labour shortages. The Calgary facility will be staffed by local workers, supported by regional supply chains, and serve as a flagship hub for advanced homebuilding.
“Promise Robotics has developed an industrial backbone to retool and enable homebuilders and manufacturers across many communities,” said Ramtin Attar, the company’s CEO and co-founder. “We are thrilled to have Mattamy Homes’ Alberta Division join our Robotic Factory-as-a-Service platform in Calgary.”
Mattamy, the largest privately owned homebuilder in North America, said the move aligns with its broader strategy of investing in modular and prefabricated housing.
“Our partnership with Promise Robotics is an exciting opportunity to explore new ways of building,” said Collin Campbell, president of Mattamy’s Alberta Division. “By further investing in automation, we can improve efficiency and consistency in the homebuilding process, while also embracing technology to support sustainability, affordability and future growth.”
The company added that the partnership represents a model that could be replicated in U.S. markets as demand grows for industrialized homebuilding.
