The Whole Story:

Construction services provider Limen Group of Companies has reached an agreement to acquire the civil infrastructure and demolition operating assets of York1, expanding its multi-trade building and civil contracting capacity across Ontario.

The transaction covers the assets of four distinct corporate operating entities: York1 Construction Service Ltd., York1 Excavation Ltd., York1 Demolition Ltd., and York1 Equipment Ltd. Financial terms of the private transaction were not disclosed. The deal is scheduled to close by the end of October 2026.

The acquired assets add extensive heavy civil capabilities to Markham-headquartered Limen, including mass excavation, grading, soil movement, sewer and force main installations, and stormwater management pond and storage construction. The deal also encompasses York1’s residential, commercial, institutional, and heavy civil demolition operations, which provide decommissioning, structural demolition, and hazardous material remediation for asbestos, lead paint, and mould.

Limen stated the integration of York1’s fleet, equipment, and specialty contracting units will enable the combined firm to deliver end-to-end site preparation and take on larger, higher-complexity infrastructure developments.

The transaction follows a period of targeted regional expansion for Limen, which completed the acquisition of Mississauga-based roadbuilder and general contractor Graham Bros. Construction Limited in late 2025.
