EllisDon acquires two power infrastructure firms
The move brings specialized expertise in high-voltage engineering, transmission systems, and utility construction under the EllisDon umbrella.

EllisDon has acquired Hardline Engineering and Firefly Power & Energy, expanding its power infrastructure capabilities across engineering, construction, and utility operations.
The acquisitions strengthen EllisDon’s expertise in high- and medium-voltage power engineering, transmission and distribution systems, substation infrastructure, and utility construction.
Hardline Engineering provides engineering and project delivery services across interconnections, transmission, distribution, substations, and streetlighting. Firefly Power & Energy specializes in high-voltage construction, operations, and maintenance.
“We’re excited to welcome the Hardline and Firefly teams to EllisDon,” said Ian Kerr, Senior Vice President and Area Manager, EllisDon Power. “They have built exceptional businesses and earned the trust of clients across the industry. Together, we’re bringing integrated solutions to the power sector, strengthening our ability to deliver power projects that support growing communities and industries across Canada.”
Both companies will continue operating under their established brands while benefiting from EllisDon’s resources and scale.
The move positions EllisDon to support electric utility, renewable energy, industrial, commercial, and public-sector clients across the full project lifecycle — from engineering and design through construction, delivery, operations, and maintenance.
