40 Under 40 winners celebrated at Vancouver gathering

Canada’s top young industrial leaders got their night in the spotlight.

Winners and alumni of the 40 Under 40 program gathered last month at BREWHALL in Vancouver to toast this year’s winners and learn who was selected for 3 special individual awards.

This year, SiteNews received more than 250 nominations which were reviewed and scored by a panel of judges to determine the final list of 40.

Their impact is felt across vastly different, but often overlapping industries, including shipping, technology, sustainability, trade contracting, real estate, engineering, manufacturing, finance and more.

Electrician, Lady Electric founder and tradeswomen advocate Carly Steiman took home the Valedictorian award which is presented to the 40 Under 40 who received the highest scores in their class.

Caitlin Hartigan, Dean of Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship at Okanagan College, was given the People’s Choice award, which recognizes the 40 Under 40 winner who received the most endorsements from their peers.

Finally, Bridgit Co-founder and CEO Mallorie Brodie was honoured as the first ever Alumni of the Year, which celebrates a past 40 Under 40 winner who has continued to demonstrate excellence in their field.

Attendees also saw the reveal of a special 40 Under 40 print magazine which highlights each of this year’s winners and digs into their achievements. A digital version can be found here.
