With 16 years of experience, Nick Thompson leads the estimating team at EllisDon Calgary, managing budgets and RFPs ranging from $1 million to $1 billion-plus. Since 2021, he has grown his team from eight to 18 people, overseeing procurement of $3.7 billion across more than 130 projects. Rising through six roles with EllisDon, he blends operational expertise with strategic leadership, pioneering AI-driven estimating, Target Value Design and standardized cost frameworks. Nick co-developed EllisDon’s national Project Execution Plan and contributes to the Palantir Foundry Steering Committee. He is an advocate for inclusive hiring through his work with the Centre for Newcomers and serves as a mentor across several post-secondary institutions.
