40 Under 40 Industrial Leaders winners announced

The wait is finally over.

The 2026 winners of 40 Under 40 Industrial Leaders have been revealed, highlighting the unsung heroes of Canada’s economy. This year, our team received more than 250 nominations which were reviewed by a panel of judges.

Their impact is felt across vastly different, but often overlapping industries, including shipping, technology, sustainability, trade contracting, real estate, engineering, manufacturing, finance and more.

The list of winners also showcased the industrial sector’s diversity. Notably, many of the top scoring winners were women, including red seal electrician and trades advocate Carly Steiman, founder of Lady Electric, GroundedAI Co-Founder Shelby Yee, WSP Canada’s Senior Manager of Climate Risk & Resilience Aline Bennett, and Okanagan College Dean of Trades & Apprenticeship Caitlin Hartigan.

“We were blown away by this year’s nominees and narrowing them down to just 40 was a monumental task for our judges,” said Russell Hixson, Editor, SiteNews. “We would like to congratulate our winners as well as all of our finalists. The value you this group of individuals brings to Canada’s economy as well as our daily lives is humbling.”

The celebration has just begun. This October, join 40 under 40 honourees, finalists, alumni, and the leaders building the future of industry right now — for one night at BREWHALL in Vancouver on October 29th. 225 leaders changing the game. All finalists and winners get a discount. If you haven’t received that, please reach out to events@sitemediagroup.com.

In addition to meeting many of this year’s honourees in person, attendees will find out the winners of three new individual awards:

Valedictorian: This person is the top of the class, earning the highest total score of all the submissions. They are the cream of the crop and were most impressive to all our judges.

People’s choice: Networking is everything and nobody does it better than this individual. In addition to judge’s votes, this year we included endorsements from peers. The winner who received the most endorsements will take home this title.

Alumni of the year: Your career doesn’t stop after winning. We went deep into the archives and caught up with someone who has been doing epic things since their previous win that are deserving of further recognition.

We would like to thank this year’s presenting sponsor, GeoVerra for their support as well as the program’s silver sponsor, ANT Equipment Group. The program also was boosted by Fettback & Heesterman and Procore. Supporting sponsors include Cupix, Edge Consultants, the Canadian Construction Association and Pomerleau.
